Dear Reader, Earlier this week, a client introduced me to a powerful phrase that stopped me in my tracks: “What you’re not changing, you’re choosing.” Let that sink in for a moment. How often do we feel stuck in a situation, a habit, or even a mindset and tell ourselves, “It’s just the way it is?” But here’s the catch: by not acting, we’re essentially choosing to let things stay as they are. Inaction is still a decision. This isn’t about beating yourself up for everything you’re putting up with. Rather, it’s about taking back your power. When you start seeing things differently and realize how much control you actually have, it creates room for change. A Few Questions for Reflection:
This idea doesn’t mean every change has to be massive or immediate. Sometimes, it’s about a series of small, intentional choices or micro-steps that add up to a big transformation over time. A Personal Example:When I first started my coaching journey, I was terrified to put myself out there. The fear of what others might think ("Who does she think she is?" "What if she fails?") was almost paralyzing. I kept hesitating to share what I was doing because I didn’t want to risk judgment. But then, I had a mindset shift. I realized that if I stayed quiet, I wouldn’t be able to help anyone, and that’s what coaching is all about: supporting others in their growth. On top of that, I reminded myself of a simple truth: no one is thinking about me nearly as much as I’m thinking about myself! Once I let go of that fear, everything changed. I started sharing more openly, and it became less about me and more about the impact I wanted to have. So, what are you choosing today? And what are you ready to stop choosing? Change doesn’t happen overnight, but awareness is the first step. Let’s choose wisely. Call to Action: If this resonates with you, hit reply and share one thing you’re ready to stop choosing. I’d love to cheer you on in your journey. With ease, Tracy P.S. Dear Reader, I was looking at my to-do list yesterday, and some of the things that I continue moving from page to page were staring at me with major side-eye. As I looked at all of the items I’d yet to cross off, I started noticing a few patterns: ➡️ I had scheduled more things for the day than I could actually handle. Am I a wizard? No. Then why do I keep doing this to myself? ➡️ Some tasks have been lingering for months. "Organize file cabinet" has basically become a permanent resident on...
Dear Reader, If you’re hearing the Talking Heads in your head right now thanks to the subject line of this email, you’re not alone. That lyric has been running through mine pretty constantly as I reflect on a new personal milestone: earning a new coaching credential, my PCC (Professional Certified Coach), through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Because five years ago? This wasn’t the plan. At the time, I was a research executive at a major media company, climbing the corporate...
Dear Reader, You know that person in your life who helped shape your values, your interests, your sense of humor, and even your music tastes? For me, that person is my mom. And seeing as today is her birthday, I want to take this opportunity to celebrate her. 🎉 You see, my mom is not only adorable (the woman is pocket-sized), she’s also taught me so much about what it means to be a strong, independent woman. So, in honor of her, here’s some wisdom that I’ve learned from her over the years. 🎉...
